Steve Von Bima, Past National Commander of the Union Veterans Union, is a founding member of the revived UVU, and is a Past Commander in Chief of the W.T. Sherman Western Division. Mr. Von Bima has had a life long interest in the Civil War. He is former reenactor in the Sacramento region and is co-founder of both the Elk Grove Civil War Round Table and General George Wright Camp 22 Sons of Union Veterans.
Mr. Von Bima has worked on various projects throughout the years relating to local Civil War History. These include the Civil War Tree Memorial, Capitol Park Civil War Tree Restoration Project, G.A.R. Monument Project and Civil War Sunday and Civil War Remembrance Day Programs at Old City Cemetery. He is a much sought after speaker for Round Table meetings with an expertese in the Civil War in the West and Civil War Coins.
Mr. Von Bima's ancestor, Albert Schohay, fought with the 198th Penna. Volunteer Infantry.
